Located in Japan’s Tomamu Resort, on the island of Hokkaido, the Unkai Terrace is a unique scenic spot perched high atop a mountain peak that is often above the clouds, offering tourists breathtaking views of the white, fluffy sea beneath them. The “unkai” or sea of clouds phenomenon has been attracting tourists to the resort town on Tomamu for years. The natural hot springs in the area and the differences in temperature during the few hours when night turns into day determine the formation of an immaculate white blanket of clouds over the mountainous region.

On Tuesday my puppy escaped through the crack of the front door and was bolting across the street to be hit my a SUV. A SUV that was speeding down my neighborhood, even with people outside. After they ran my baby’s head over twice, they didn’t even stop to apologies. I doubt they even noticed. Ever since there was been an upsetting overtone to my house. I am grateful I did not see the incident occur, however there were more awful sights to see. My other dog seeing the lifeless puppy in my sister’s arms, shaking dreadfully quick, petrified, that his new friend is gone. He now lays on the couch, not eating, nor leaving. My mother is awoken by nightmare’s of our puppies death. My sister cannot even be home, staying as far away from our house because when it comes down to it, this is her puppy. She paid for Mila, Mila was her’s and she was not here when her baby escaped. She could do nothing to save her. And I, have to stay strong, just like my father. Helping to dig the grave, listening to sad voices with teary eyes. How could someone not even stop, nor care that they had just changed the lives of four people, instilling fear. Fear to love.
